A Discord server, a subreddit, or a registered indie association that gathers indie game devs or indie game players. Every listing is verified before going live.

How is a community verified?

Two paths. OAuth: the submitter connects Discord or Reddit and we confirm they admin the server or moderate the subreddit. IRL: the submitter provides the org's official website and verification evidence, and a Crewforge admin reviews it manually.

What happens after a community is verified?

Accepted Answer

The organizer can publish events directly under that community with no moderation queue. They can invite other organizers, edit the community page, and add multiple links (website, Twitter, Bluesky, itch.io, Steam, etc.).

Is being listed free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Free to submit, free to verify, free to keep listed. No paid tier, no sponsored slot. Crewforge does not take a cut of community fees, sponsorships, or memberships.

How do I filter communities?

Accepted Answer

Filter by platform (Discord, Reddit, IRL), country, language, and curated tags (engine, genre, discipline, regional focus). Crewforge-official communities surface with a separate badge.

What if my community has both a Discord and is also a registered association?

Accepted Answer

Hybrid verification. OAuth-verify the Discord, then add IRL fields (org name, official website) on top. Both badges show on the community page.
